Hot tubs are awesome for chilling out, but the time comes for all of them when they get old, beaten down, and forgotten about.

First things first, gather your gear:
Drill (for unscrewing stuff)
Sawzall (to cut things up)
Crowbar (for prying)
Wide-mouth wire cutters (snip, snip!)
Sledgehammer (for some fun smashing)
Start by saying goodbye to the side panels. They’re usually held on with screws, so whip out your drill or crowbar and get rid of them. Then it’s time to tackle the supports.
Use the sawzall to make cuts around the tub and knock them out with the sledgehammer.
Next up, find those pumps near the control panel.
Cut any pipes connected to them, then give them a good whack with the sledgehammer or crowbar until they come loose.
Now comes the fun part: cutting up the tub!
Make straight cuts from the top down to the floor, dividing it into manageable chunks, our general rule of thumb here is to make them about two feet wide, to make them easy to handle.
Watch out for foam and pipes hiding inside – you might need to make a few extra cuts.
Time to deal with that plastic mat at the bottom of the tub. Cut it into smaller pieces to make life easier. And don’t forget to clear away any loose bits before you start cutting!
Once the tub’s in pieces, it’s cleanup time! Sweep up any mess with a broom or rake, and give everything a good wash down.
